I will watch the season finale of the show, but after that, no more.

I have had a major love/hate relationship with this show pretty much the whole season, but after the latest episode I just can't deal with it anymore.

okay, I was tired and emotional before watching the ep, so this is probably an overreaction and I'm sure I'll calm down about it later, but I won't change my mind

You know how some people say they have slash goggles? Well I certainly don't, but I do have ship goggles.

More and more I find myself shipping in the types of tv shows and movies I never would have before. This week I've watched all of Law & Order: UK and have myself a brand new ship.

But that's not the worst of it.

I just watched Spicks & Specks, which I taped last night on my brand new Foxtel iQ (*squee*). All through the ep I couldn't help but kinda ship Steve Coogan and Jade Macrae.

Eeek.

Did anyone else out there watch it and have a vague idea what I am talking about??? I'm not the only one who saw something, right?

I've heard about the new version of Emma for a while and like most Austen fans were concerned about the casting. I love the Paltrow movie version, in no small part to the awesomeness that is Jeremy Northam, and so was anxious about a new version.

Anyway, they just announced the cast, and it is made of win!!!

Romola Garai as Emma and Johnny Lee Miller as Mr Knightley. Now with bonus Sir Michael Gambon as Mr Woodhouse.

I've been a fan of Romola's for a while now and I love Johnny in Mansfield Park so I am certain they will both be awesome. I cannot wait to see this new version now.

Any Austen fans out there? What do you think?

Top Gear has a nineteen years waiting list for the studio audience. Wow. I knew it was popular but that is crazy. Those people must be really optimistic that the show is still going in two decades time. LOL.

In other news, today is the whole 'find out what uni/TAFE course you got into' day. As someone who works in a student management area of a TAFE, I'm not looking forward to today. Methinks I will have a lot of phonecalls to deal with.

Also, can God please turn off the heater now??? Seriously, I dont do well in the heat and it's going to be hot all this week. I am so over it. :O(

So I watched the Golden Globes last night (well, most of it, I stopped watching after Kate won award #2, so I saw most of it). I knew who won (thanks to the awesome blogging of cleolinda) so I was tuning in more for the fashion and the crazy moments I heard about. I just have three things to say.

One. I was not a fan of all the fashion and hair and red carpet glamour this year. It took me forever to find someone to say, 'yup, that is my favourite outfit of the night' (Tina Fey, for those interested - after seeing more pics today I also like Amy Adams, Isla Fisher, Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway). Seriously, what was Renee Zellweger thinking??? And I like Drew Barrymore's dress (the top half more than the bottom half), but that hair?? And can someone let Jennifer Lopez know we aren't in the late 90's anymore? I could go on, but I won't.

Two. Emma Thompson has long been a favourite of mine, and never is she more awesome than at award shows. Both her presentation of an award and her talking to Sally Hawkins during her speech were absolute gold. She is awesome. End of story.

Three. Kate and Leo. I have been a fan of Kates since Heavenly Creatures and I am thrilled she finally got her dues. And her and Leo - are they not the cutest BFFs in the world?? :O) Also, I think I kind of ship them. Not in a 'I wish they were together in real life' kind of way, more in a 'I'm certain in a parallel universe they got together during Titanic and got married and had babies and are the power couple in Hollywood' kind of way.

So, I think I will leave it there. In other news, I am so over work and its only the second week back.

I am currently downloading the DW Christmas special, so I can catch up with everyone else who has already seen it.

Also, the other day I watched the two part series finale/Christmas special of Vicar of Dibley, with Richard Armitage, and I am completely in love. Sweetest thing ever and I want a Harry Kennedy of my own!!!

In other news, I am moving into a new office at work on Monday and I have my final unit for the semester due on Friday and it's just over three weeks until my New York trip and Eli Stone has made me fall back in love with Jonny Lee Miller and I should stop this sentence before it goes on forever.

In two months I will be jetting off to New York. OMG its really going to happen. And in the meantime I get to watch the Aussie dollar be crap and lose 20c over the last few months and continue on a downward spiral. Not that it will really affect how much money I will spend in NYC - I'll buy what I want when I want regardless of the exchange rate. But still, it would be nice to not have to pay 30% extra on everything. *shrug*

I watched Lost in Austen, more out of curiosity than anything else, but damn if it didnt suck me in. I can't believe I didnt hate it. Also, how awesome was last weeks Ugly Betty! Three words: shippiest episode ever. And the end of the season premiere of Greys Anatomy. *clings* (okay, I'm being a bit vague, but I dont want to spoil my Aussies, and LJ cuts are pointless when someone might want to read the entry for other things. Does anyone out there know how to do that spoiler/highlighting text - maybe that would solve all my problems)

I've also downloaded the first few eps of True Blood and Secret Diary of a Call girl but havent watched it yet - so much TV, so little time.

Also, on an unrelated note, this whole daylight savings thing is so messing with me. Its too early damnit! And I'm sick of it screwing me over. Ugh.

Not much else to say really. God I'm boring. And I am totally over work too. Whats happening with all you guys?? Someone entertain me. :O)

* Have been doing some study. I've been freaking out because the due dates are approaching and I feel like I should have done more work by now.

* Saw Wall-E. OMG so totally cute.

* Work is quiet coz its holidays and there are no students. Yay!

* Am falling a bit behind on my TV shows. I have decided to watch House on normal TV since its been fasttracked (alas that means no Spicks and Specks). Yay for Life being back. I missed the first ep of In Treatment but caught the second ep and taped the third ep last night. Project Runway US has just started airing. I actually downloaded and watched the first couple of eps when it started but since Aussie PR was on at the same time it got a bit disorientating so I stopped watching it. I still have to catch up on this weeks Gossip Girl, and all the Heroes and Greys Anatomy and Dexter eps. *flails* So much TV, so little time.

* I'm waiting every day for my order from Amazon of Gossip Girl S1 and Ugly Betty S2. Its not due for a few weeks but I really want them. *is impatient*

* Did any of my fellow DMB fans squee when one of their songs was used in House this week (or last week for my Americans)? :O)

* My nephew is growing up and is still gorgeous.

* I watched the original Funny Games. Has anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

* What did my Aussies think of Top Gear Australia? I thought it was a bit awkward but I suppose they need time to settle into everything. But please, for the love of God, get the UK boys out here and have a Oz vs UK challenge!!

* Have been feeling pretty average of late. Been a bit depressed I guess. But you dont wanna hear about that so moving right along...

* OMG Rob Guest! RIP. I'm so glad I got to see him on stage in Wicked this year. He will be sorely missed by the Aussie theatre world. Does anyone know if any shows will be cancelled? My sis and I were going to try for the Wicked lottery this weekend.

* Just over two months to my holiday. And every day I watch the American dollar go down. :O( Why didnt I do something (like pay off some accom or get some money out) when it was in the high 90s??? But on the plus side I bought a ticket to Shrek the Musical. Methinks it will either be awesome or suck - either way it will be worth seeing.

* Have not been inspired to do anything creative - no fics, icons, moodthemes, nothing. I miss the days when I was totally energetic and creative.

* I saw a guy on the train this morning who looked exactly like Burn Gorman. So weird.

* I really need more interesting bullet points. Anyone know where I can find some good ones???

So, I didnt get to go see The X-Files movie over the weekend. I am more bummed about this than I should be. Will hopefully go see it this weekend - if not, heads will roll.

Other than that, had a good, quiet weekend. Hung out with my nephew, had dinner with my cousins, watched a lot of The X-Files (Triangle and Arcadia FTW!). Thank God I have four-day weeks for the next three weeks - work is driving me insane and even though its 10am on a Monday morning I am yet to start any actual work and am already counting the hours until hometime.

So, life sucks. Had the worst week at work last week (I even took work home on the weekend - I'm an admin person - I dont get paid enough to take work home!!!) and this week, while slightly better, is still pretty crappy. Plus, I'm tired from not sleeping well coz I'm sleeping on the couch coz my parents have friends visiting who have stolen my bed. Ugh.

And as if all that wasnt bad enough, I'm starting to get sick. :O(

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

On a completely unrelated note, has anyone on my flist read any of the Doctor Who novels? Which ones would you recommend??

First of all, GIP!! :O)

Okay, so my parents got home last night. Their plane was due 7.55pm so my sis and I decided we'd aim to get there about 8.25/8.30ish to give the pares time to get through customs. Of course when we got there we discovered their plan landed 20 minutes later than it should have so we still had to wait around for ages.

Anyway, my parents got upgraded to premium economy (lucky bastards LOL) and as they were settled and the rest of the plebs were making their way to Economy they heard someone call their name. They look up and there is Shaun, someone who lived two doors down at the old house - he is a year older than me and him and his sis and me and my sis would play together all the time when we were kids. Although I occasionally see his sis I havent seen him in about ten years. He came out of customs a few minutes after my parents so we got to catch up for a few minutes. Its weird, coz I didnt think I would recognise him, but he really looks exactly the same. It was so random, but good to see him.

On the way home from the airport my parent claimed they were exhausted and could sleep for a week (not an unheard claim after flying for 24 hours). Only they couldnt sleep for a week - they slept for about five hours. They were awake at 4am and couldnt get back to sleep and decided they should at least do something with their time, so they unpacked everything and were moving around the house and had the TV on. Yeah, thanks for that. I really appreciate being woken up at 4.30am when I have to go to work and you dont. Grrr.

Anyway, on a completely unrelated note, I am finally watching Torchwood. I tried to get as much downloaded and watched before my parents came home and we had to fight over the laptop. LOL. I am about a third the way through season two right now and have the rest downloaded and ready to watch. :O)

I havent really checked my flist all weekend and it got to skip=435. Crazy. I am knackered now. LOL. Link me to anything important I may have missed.
