Part of me can't believe it. In some ways I thought Michael Jackson would be one of those people who would live forever. Yes, his personal life was a mess, but he was one of the most important musical performers from the last century. We grew up with his music always in the background. He was a pop icon, and will be missed.

Also, can someone please confirm whether or not the rumours that Jeff Golblum has died are correct? Apparantly the NZ police have issued a statement saying he died by falling from a cliff in NZ. [ETA: It's a hoax. Phew.]

This day is so surreal.

Also, I just tried to book tickets to Harry Potter. I'm going with my sis and her fiance - but he is going on call from that Friday for a week and so can't go to a movie during that time. And the two Thursday night sessions dont have three seats available (we are going to Gold Class). So it looks like I will miss out for a week. :O(

Just a quick post to say I havent really been checking the flist since late last week. I tried to catch up yesterday but didn't get very far. And I dont think I'll have much time over the next few days either. So please link me to anything you want me to see, or you think I might want to see. The reason I am not around is because a) I am crazy busy at work with enrolments, and b) I am sick. Don't even think about making a swine flu joke. LOL. So yeah, worst time to be sick coz I still have to come in to work for enrolment stuff. I feel like crap and I just wanna go home to bed and theres really not much I can do about it. :O(

I'm still crazy busy. I'm working late every day, and every weekend doing 'OMG I think I am buying a house' things and study. So yeah, I'm using any and all free time to try and relax or sleep (which has been pretty elusive), so I havent been around too much. I try and keep up with everything, but if I've missed something please link me. :O)

On a semi-related note, I found out today I passed the units I was angsting about in this post. Huzzah!!! So relieved.

My younger sister E gave birth at approx 6pm this evening to baby Ashley Jade. She is small and light and gorgeous. Baby and mum and dad all doing well.

I totally called it. Always knew it would be a girl. And she was a week early. I love the name - it's totally cute.

It's been a little while since I've updated.

Finally saw Star Trek!!! I loved it. Totally awesome. Has made me want to rewatch some Trek. Methinks I might do a Voyager rewatch - coz everyone flailing over the shippy has made me pine for my Trek OTP.

So, now we come to the real news. I AM FREAKING OUT. I am so stressed I can't even tell you. My part time study is due today and I'm not entirely confident that I will pass it. Because for the last month I have been investigating house things. Thats right, I might possibly perhaps maybe be building a house. So for the last month, I've been doing house things every weekend. And it is stressful. Seriously, I havent had a decent night sleep in two weeks. And so my study has suffered. Then I get into a pattern where when I am doing house stuff and stressing about my study and when I am studying I am still thinking about house things.

For better or for worse I have to hand my work in today. It's not as completed as I would have liked, but at least I am handing something in. I'm just hoping for the best. Obviously working at the place I am studying I know the teacher and am hoping he will go easy on me. Plus, some of the questions were really hospitality focused, when I am studying Tourism and have never worked or studied hospitality in my life. My original thoughts were worst case scenario, I fail, and then I have six weeks to resubmit. But then a coordinator said today that you can't resubmit flexible work. I JUST DONT KNOW. I know its too late to do anything about it now, but I am stressing so bad.

But when I am not thinking about study stuff I am stressing about the house stuff. This is seriously the most terrified I have ever been in my life. Because I am doing this all by myself and I have crap wages and its so expensive and it's freaking terrifying!

Ugh. I'm so exhausted.

In other, more happier news, I bought my ticket to Avenue Q today, and my younger sis will probably be giving birth next week.

I have bought and read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It was interesting how the whole zombie subplot was weaved throughout the whole story. There were a couple of moments that kinda grossed me out, but for the most part it was pretty awesome. Has anyone out there read it??

Everyone on my flist has seen Star Trek and I haven't. :O( I was supposed to go on the weekend but various circumstances prevented it. Instead I have to sit back and watch everyone else squee over it. Such a bummer. Hopefully we will get there this weekend.
